Find a Flushing dentist for your oral health needs

Our general dentistry services cover teeth cleaning, exams, and other routine procedures

Your teeth and gum health is an important part of your overall well-being. At Flushing Hospital Medical Center, we offer a range of general dentistry services to prevent and treat an equally diverse variety of health issues, including plaque buildup, gum disease, and chipped or damaged teeth, to name a few.

A general dentist oversees a wide variety of diagnostic assessments, treatments, and procedures, including (but not limited to) exams, cleanings, x-rays, tooth repair and restoration, and screenings for oral cancer to care for your overall dental health. Although they may not specialize in a particular area of dental care, a general dentist can help to determine whether or not an appointment with a specialist is the right approach for your needs.

In addition to the procedures listed below, our Flushing dentists also coordinate certain oral surgical procedures. However, for advanced or complex cases, you may be referred to a specialist or an oral and maxillofacial surgeon.

Our general dentistry services

Dental Exam: Exams are a form of routine oral dental care to check for cavities, gingivitis, and other potential health issues. Exams are recommended for patients every six months.

Teeth Cleaning: Teeth cleaning typically focuses on removing plaque and tartar from your teeth and gums. Gritty toothpaste is then applied with an electric brush to polish your teeth.

X-rays: An x-ray is often used to identify issues such as growing wisdom teeth, the condition and position of your teeth for braces, and other potential problems such as tooth decay and bone loss in your jaw.

Tooth Repair: If you develop cavities or your teeth become chipped or damaged, our Flushing dentists can repair them by filling them in or performing a procedure called bonding using a composite resin.

Oral Cancer Screening: An oral cancer screening is typically conducted by checking your throat, neck, and the inside of your mouth for white or red patches or sores, as well as lumps or other masses.
