Flushing Oral Surgery Specialists

Trust our world-class surgical expertise for any dental health issue you may be facing

A wide range of medical problems such as tooth decay, dental misalignment, gum disease, and oral cancer may require surgery on your teeth, gums, jaw, and other facial structures. Some of the most common causes for surgery include oral cancer, tooth decay, missing teeth, impacted teeth, injured teeth, and gum disease.

Oral surgery includes many different procedures across the full spectrum of dentistry specializations, including (but not limited to) dental implant surgery, dental bone grafts, cancer removal, corrective jaw surgery, and periodontal surgery. General dentists oversee a variety of different surgical procedures, but may refer you to an oral and maxillofacial surgeon that routinely oversees the procedure and is better equipped to coordinate treatment of more complex cases.

Before any procedure, you will receive a diagnostic exam to determine the right treatment approach for you. After your surgery, your dentist will work with you to minimize complications and ensure lasting beneficial outcomes for your oral health.

Our oral surgical procedures

Tooth Extraction: Extractions of wisdom teeth that are impacting other teeth are common, but extractions may also be performed on severely decayed or injured teeth that can no longer function normally and may pose a health risk. This procedure is avoided to spare natural teeth when possible, but certain cases may necessitate it to preserve your overall oral health.

Apicoectomy: If the gum tissue at the end of the root of your tooth has become inflamed, you may be recommended for an apicoectomy, which involves removing this tissue while the tip of your tooth is left in place. This procedure is often performed after a root canal to correct issues around the tooth.

Implant Surgery: Teeth that have been extracted can be replaced using dental implants, which are embedded into your jaw to replace the roots of your teeth. Dental crowns, dental bridges, and dentures may then be attached to these implants.

Jaw Surgery: Various conditions may cause problems such as bone loss or skeletal abnormalities in your jaw. We can correct these problems through several different surgical approaches, such as orthognathic surgery or a dental bone graft.
