To better serve our community, Flushing Hospital Medical Center has created a specialized center to provide post-COVID care in Queens. Located at our Hollis Tudors MediSys site, our post-COVID center was established to provide care to the thousands of patients who are still experiencing the symptoms associated with COVID-19.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, hundreds of thousands of New York City residents have tested positive for the coronavirus that causes COVID-19, a highly infectious disease. During the surge, there were two types of patients; 1- those who had mild to moderate symptoms that resolved within two weeks, and 2- those who had severe symptoms that resolved in three to six weeks.
Recently however, a third group of patients has emerged; those who have lingering symptoms of the disease for up to three months or more. Individuals within this group can come from either of the two aforementioned groups, and have most likely cleared the virus but seem to continue having COVID-related symptoms. This group of patients is now commonly being referred to as “Long Haulers.”
These patients, as well as others experiencing COVID-related symptoms can now receive post-COVID Care in Queens from our team of highly- qualified and experienced doctors at our new specially designated center.
