Q
-How do I know if I am eligible for weight loss surgery?
A
-Flushing Hospital’s Bariatric Services follows the guidelines supported by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Commonly accepted guidelines include: the patient should have a body mass index (BMI) over 40, is over 100 lbs. over their ideal body weight or has a BMI of 35 and experiencing severe health conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Each case is different; therefore we strongly recommend that you visit our facility for a consultation.
