This month, we are proud to shine our Employee Spotlight on Yessica Siguencia, Patient Navigation Manager. Yessica began her career at Flushing Hospital Medical Center in November of 2020 as a Patient Navigator. She was promoted to supervisor in 2022 and manager in 2023.
Yessica was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and moved to Ecuador at the age of five where she lived until she was twelve years old. She moved to the United States in 2007. Yessica graduated from Flushing High School, and then went on to study at John Jay College of Criminal Justice where she obtained her degree in International Criminal Justice as well as a degree in Spanish. She currently lives in Jackson Heights, Queens.
In her free time, Yessica enjoys traveling and exploring new restaurants. One of her favorite places that she has visited so far is Dubai. She enjoys music festivals, keeping active, working out and taking fitness classes. Her favorite types of music are house, techno, and Afro house music.
Yessica enjoys working at Flushing Hospital and is grateful for the opportunities that the hospital has given her. She is a Qualified Medical Interpreter and found a great sense of satisfaction interpreting for patients, creating a positive experience for them. It also allowed her to be supportive to these patients when they felt vulnerable.
