Whether you\u2019re using a charcoal or a gas grill, here are some tips to help you grill safely:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Grill in well-ventilated areas. Never use an outdoor grill indoors.<\/li>\n<li>Open your gas grill before lighting to make sure gas doesn\u2019t build up under the top.<\/li>\n<li>Wear proper clothing.\n<ul>\n<li>Don\u2019t wear any loose clothing.<\/li>\n<li>Roll up your sleeves.<\/li>\n<li>Pull your hair back.<\/li>\n<li>Tie and secure apron strings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Keep a fire extinguisher within reach.<\/li>\n<li>Keep combustibles like lighter fluid and cooking sprays at a safe distance away from the grill.\n<ul>\n<li>Never add lighter fluid to hot coals.<\/li>\n<li>Never use gasoline or kerosene as a starter fluid.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Create a safe zone around the grill.\n<ul>\n<li>Keep children, pets, and play areas away from the grill.<\/li>\n<li>Mark a three-foot \u201cNo Kids Zone\u201d around your grill.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Keep the grill at least 10 feet away from buildings.<\/li>\n<li>Check the grill for leaks if you are using a gas grill.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure the grill is on a flat and level surface.<\/li>\n<li>Always clean the grill after use to remove grease that can start a fire.<\/li>\n<li>Keep a spray bottle full of water next to the grill to extinguish any small flames before they spread.<\/li>\n<li>Never leave the grill unattended.<\/li>\n<li>Never use the grill while intoxicated.<\/li>\n<li>Place used coals from the grill in a metal can with a lid once they have cooled off.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you or someone you are with are experiencing an emergency, call 911 immediately.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"disclaimer\">All content of this newsletter is intended for general information purposes only and is not intended or implied to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
