{"id":5581,"date":"2019-11-27T16:51:40","date_gmt":"2019-11-27T16:51:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.flushinghospital.org\/newsletter\/?p=5581"},"modified":"2024-05-09T03:33:06","modified_gmt":"2024-05-09T03:33:06","slug":"employee-spotlight-deona-desmoulin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flushinghospital.org\/newsletter\/employee-spotlight-deona-desmoulin\/","title":{"rendered":"Employee Spotlight &#8211; Leona DesMoulin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<p>Novembers Employee Spotlight shines on Leona DesMoulin, MHC,\nCASAC-T, Office Manager for the Department of Psychiatry and Addiction Services\nin the Administrative office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During her 13 year tenure at Flushing Hospital, Leona has\nhad the title of Office Manager in the hospital\u2019s administrative office, the\nReflections Chemical Dependence Clinic, and currently the Psychiatry\nAdministrative office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On any given day, Leona\u2019s job description includes working\nwith the Administrator, Chairman and Associate Chairman as well as other\nmembers of the department on multiple projects.&nbsp;\nHer responsibilities include: keeping the administrative, clinical,\nregulatory, performance improvement, incident and risk management functions and\nprocesses up to date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Leona is dedicated to her field and has received a Master\u2019s\nin Healthcare Administration and is a Certified Alcoholism and Substance Abuse\nCounselor trainee.&nbsp; She anticipates\nbecoming more and more involved in the department\u2019s Opioid Overdose Prevention\nProject.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of all her titles, accomplishments, certifications and degrees,\nLeona DesMoulin\u2019s favorite title is Mom. \u201cI have one daughter who is currently\na Registered Nurse in Orthopedics at the Hospital for Special Surgery.&nbsp; My daughter is my pride and joy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When not at work Leona loves interior decorating, fashion\ndesigning, traveling, entertaining and church activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Leona, the most rewarding part of her job is,\n\u201cMotivating others to flourish\u201d and the most challenging part of her job is \u201cbringing\npeople at all levels of the organization together to form an effective and\nmutually reinforcing group for the benefit of each other and our patients.\u201d&nbsp; Overall, she says her experience working at\nFlushing Hospital is invaluable because she loves her job.<\/p>\n<p class=\"disclaimer\">All content of this newsletter is intended for general information purposes only and is not intended or implied to be a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
