A robotic prostatectomy is a\u00a0type of prostatectomy\u00a0performed by a\u00a0surgeon using surgical tools\u00a0attached to robotic arms that\u00a0assist\u00a0in removing the prostate gland during the procedure.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A robotic prostatectomy differs from a traditional open prostatectomy, which requires a large eight-to-ten-inch incision. Instead, a minimally invasive approach called laparoscopy allows the surgeon to operate with precise movements and allows the surgeon to operate by way of a one-to-two-inch incision and five much smaller incisions in the lower stomach.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
